WilIy Wonka and the Weed Factory is a full-length musical satire that takes a very silly look at the very real, systemic problems that caused marijuana to become illegal in the US in the first place. Spoiler alert: it was racism. We sang! We danced! We questioned the terrifying control Big Pharma has over our governmental institutions! It premiered at Fremont Center Theatre in 2017 and was sponsored by the cannabis company Spliffin, which was featured in the song “I’ve Got a Golden Spliffin”.

“The show is more than a story about smoking weed; it’s sing-a-long activism.”

“…not just a parody about smoking pot, but also a vehicle to set the record straight about ‘wacky tobaccy’…”

“[The Creators] set out to educate the audience, as well as entertain—and succeed in both regards.”

“…wacky and wonderful…”
